Have you ever thought about taking a sabbatical or career break to travel, pursue a passion, or just have a life for a change? Most of us do, but so few ever get there because we just don’t know how to do it.
What if you could meet people who have done it and returned to normal life (or something better)? You might be surprised to find out they are not all 20-somethings fresh out of college, and there are ways to take a career break no matter what your age or income level.
When we started planning our big adventure we had a hard time finding information on how to do it. Sure, there were lots of blogs about people on their big trips, but how did they get there? We struggled to find this information on our own (and it is why we document so much here).
Meet Plan Go
On September 14 the fabulous folks at Meet Plan Go are commemorating National Passport Month by hosting a night of information and networking to show you how to create your own career break for travel.
This is the event we were looking for 2 years ago.
There are Meet Plan Go events in several North American cities, including Seattle, Austin, NYC, Toronto, Dallas, and Chicago. More are being planned as we speak.
We are going to host the Seattle version of this national event with a lot of help from local travelers and Seattle-based companies. We’ll have experts to answer your questions and tell their stories, vendors with great travel gear/advice, and plenty of resources available to help you plan your career break.
Check out the founders of Meet Plan Go here. You can follow the Facebook fan page here to find the city closest to you or to volunteer your own expertise if you are on or have taken a career break for travel.
If you are in the Seattle area and want to be kept up-to-date on our event, sign up for the alerts or stay tuned to the blog.
What kind of questions do you have about your own possible career break? We’d love to get the answers for you.
