Are you struggling to maintain your cool during the hectic holiday season?
If you’re fretting over gifts and food and travel and parties and what to wear and when will you have time to wrap and oh yeah there’s still regular life and work and…whew! I got stressed just typing that. Imagine how you feel living it.
Oh wait. You don’t have to.
The good news is that you can make a difference in how you and your family experience the holiday by focusing on just that: EXPERIENCE.
Today’s bonus episode of An Uncluttered Life Podcast is a powerful conversation with Michelle Steinke-Baumgard, founder of One Fit Widow. You may remember Michelle because this is the third time she’s been on our show. She’s a popular guest because she walks the talk in a very public way, and you’ll appreciate her take on creating an Uncluttered Christmas in her modern-day Brady Bunch family (but with way better hair than Carole Brady).
As for us, we’ll be spending the holiday as we normally do, first with a big lunch with good friends on Christmas Eve, then eating many small plates of food and watching our favorite movies on Christmas Day. (It used to be dim sum in the US; now we’ve switched to tapas in our Spanish village.)
Our gift to each other is renting a house in the north of Spain this summer as we escape the heat and go hiking in the mountains. We’ll be looking forward to “unwrapping” our present six months from now, and we can spend the time in between dreaming about it and researching great hikes.
No matter how you’re spending your holiday season, eating dim sum and going to the movies like we normally do or having a big feast with family and friends, we hope you appreciate the good fortune of the past year, respect the lessons you’ve learned, and look forward to an uncluttered and spacious new year!
